Fortunately one brand already meets it!
In August, the National Fire Protection Association published NFPA 1936 - Standard on
Powered Rescue Tool Systems (1999 edition) - their very first standard developed for
rescue tools. Now there are well-defined levels of quality and performance that set
criteria for the specification and selection of rescue tools. And Holmatro® is the only
brand that's been designed and built tough enough to meet the standard right from the
start.
Underwriters Laboratory (UL) has tested our rescue tool systems and found them compliant
to the new standard*. That's not surprising, since they're the only tools that are already
UL listed - having passed tests even more demanding than those required by NFPA.
We presume that others may catch up and apply for certification to the NFPA
standard...eventually. Meanwhile, get your hands on the only line of rescue tools that
already meet the toughest combination of standards anywhere -- yours, ours UL's, and
now... NFPA's.
